Ernesto Neto's Dust by Robert Matheson

Ernesto Neto's Dust

Size: Up to 20"x30"
Material:   Digital Image
Year: 2016

This image was created by taking a close up cell phone photo of one of Ernesto Neto's drooping teardrops used to create Mother Body Emotional Densities, For Alive Temple Time Baby Son. at the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art downtown location. I processed my photo using a color scanner app, simplifying the texture and detail of the dust inside the lycra teardrops. One major aspect that is missing is the smell. Each drop contained a different spice, creating a very unique sensory experience.
