This image is composed of two very different images. One very old and one very modern. The bright geometric pattern is an image shot while viewing Jakob Dwight's multimedia Masks and Global African Art installation in the Fowler Museum at UCLA. Overlaying the image is Nicephore Niepce's View from the Window at Le Gras, the first photograph ever taken (see also Obscure Photograph). Photographic art and the tools used to express an artist's ideas have come a long way. February 24th, 2016.
