May 29th, 1978 - Born. Salt Lake City, UT

1996-1998 - Studied Graphic Design at Salt Lake Community College. Salt Lake City, UT

1998-2017 - 16 year career in Web Design & Development. Teacher. Art Director. Web Designer. Business Owner. Began in Salt Lake City. Ended in San Diego, CA.

2012 - Moved to San Diego, CA and began painting en plein air. Regularly painted with the San Diego Plein Air Painters and LPAPA (Laguna Plein Air Painters Association)..

2015 - Left the corporate world. Traveled to Europe on creative journey. Met Stratos at Glyfada Marina, Greece. Met Henrik Schutze at Freetown Christiania, Copenhagen, Denmark. Both had a tremendous impact.

2016 - Started attending weekly life drawing sessions with the North Park Drawing Group, San Diego, CA.

2018 - Moved to Las Vegas, NV.

2019 - Moved to Newberry, SC. Established Four Penny Studio at 1100 Caldwell St, Newberry, SC.

July 9th, 2019 - Painted the Harper Street Fire Hydrant for the 4th of July Bike Parade in Newberry, SC. (newspaper)

October 2nd, 2019 - Experimenting with Gifts Exhibition & Artist Reception at Wessels Library, Newberry College, South Carolina (poster).

June, 2019 - Established the Newberry Photo Group in partnership with the Newberry Arts Center.

August 31, 2019 - First exhibition of the Newberry Photo Group, hosted by the Newberry Arts Center.

December, 2019 - Established Newberry Made, a registry of artists and makers in Newberry County (website: www.newberrymade.com).

January, 2020 - Joined the South Carolina Arts Commission Art of Community: Rural SC Program as a Community Connector.

January 6, 2020 - Second Exhibition of the Newberry Photo Group, hosted by the Newberry Arts Center.

October, 2020 - Established the Newberry Made Artist Showcase program, partnering local artists with local businesses to exhibit artwork throughout Newberry County each month. View the map of current exhibitions.

May, 2020 - Established and published the first issue of the Newberry Made Zine (. A mini-magazine showcasing local art & culture in Newberry, South Carolina.

April 4, 2021 - Began my Markmaking Project [video] at my studio in Newberry, SC.

April 6, 2021 - Started the #Poetree Community Art Project on Boyce St in downtown Newberry, SC. Began hanging poetry on the tree and invited the community to join.

April 10, 2021 - Newberry Made partners with the Newberry County Chamber of Commerce and Earth Safe Finishes to paint murals with the community at the Grow Newberry Farmers Market.

April 21, 2021 - Established the Newberry Made Art & Coffee gathering of local artists and supporters at 1213 Main St every Wednesday at 9am. All are welcome!

April 15th, 2021 - Newberry Made Artist Pop-up Exhibition [photo | video] in collaboration with local musicians and performers at Bar Figaro Open Mic Night.

June 2nd, 2021 - Completed "State of Awe", a mural size painting for Newberry's first ever Juneteenth Festival. (newspaper)

June 28th, 2021 - Extended my Markmaking Project to the Newberry Observer Press Room, eventually becoming a community art project with over 30 people creating art inspired by an unconventional safe space.

July 15th, 2021 - #Poetree Community Art Project extended to Prosperity, SC with the help of local writer Andy Hawkins and owners of the Blend Coffee & Art. View the map of current Poetree locations. [newspaper]

September 3rd, 2021 - "Ernest Lee & Robert Paintin' Newberry" Exhibition held in town square. Over 30 paintings documenting the City of Newberry. [Poster]

September 10th-11th, 2021 - Organized the "Observing Community" Art Exhibition held at The Newberry Observer. Two day community art exhibtion featuring over two dozens artists and 100+ works of art on display.[Video | newspaper]

September 14th, 2021 - Presentation to the Newberry College Music Department about the power of community art.

November, 2021 - Exhibited the painting "Civil Rights March" at Newberry City Hall for the month of November. [painting].

October 24th, 2021 - Established the NFT Museum at 1110 Harrington St, Newberry, SC. The mission of the Non-Fungible Token Museum™ is to provide a physical and virtual space for NFT art creation, collaboration and exhibition in an effort to help artists benefit from the emerging digital economy. October 24th, 2021 - Created and minted the Genesis NFT for the NFT Museum. [Genesis Mint NFT on Opensea.io].

October 24th, 2021 - Donated the first pNFT (physical NFT) to the NFT Museum. [Observing Marks pNFT on Opensea.io].

December 11th, 2021 - Organized Pop-Up Exhibition at Wiles Chapel, Newberry College in collaboration with the Newberry College Music Department. Bringing community art & artifacts together for the annual performace of Handel's Messiah. "Fiesta de la Virgen de Guadalupe" at St. Mark's celebration of the same name.
